  • Hide How do I change my ATM card to a debit card?

    Once you open a new Bank of America checking account, or if you already have an existing Bank of America checking account, you can replace your existing ATM card with a debit card in the following ways:

    • Call 1.800.432.1000 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time Saturday and Sunday
    • Visit a banking center

    You will receive your new debit card in 5 to 7 business days.

  • Show How do I request a PIN (Personal Identification Number)?

    To request a new PIN, call 1.800.432.1000 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time Saturday and Sunday.  You may also visit a banking center.

  • Show How can I request an ATM card?

    Once you open a new Bank of America checking or savings account, or if you already have an existing Bank of America checking or savings account, you can request an ATM card in the following ways:

    • Sign in to Online Banking
    • Call 1.800.432.1000 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time Saturday and Sunday
    • Visit a banking center

    You will receive your new ATM card in 5 to 7 business days.

  • Show What are the fees for using an ATM?

    Bank of America customers can transfer funds, make deposits, inquire about a balance, and withdraw cash with their Bank of America debit card without a fee at thousands of Bank of America ATMs in the United States.  Other account fees may apply to the transaction such as an Excess Withdrawal fee for savings accounts.  Please refer to your Personal Schedule of Fees for more details.

    Withdrawals, transfers, and balance inquiries from ATMs at other financial institutions in the United States will be assessed a fee.  You may also be charged a fee by the ATM operator or any network used.  You may be charged a fee for a balance inquiry even if you do not complete a funds transfer.

  • Show Are there fees for requesting a replacement ATM card?

    There are fees for each requested replacement of an ATM card. The replacement fee does not apply when we replace a card upon its expiration.  Fees also apply for each requested rush delivery of an ATM card.  Please refer to your Personal Schedule of Fees for more details.

  • Show How do I change a PIN (Personal Identification Number?

    If you do not know your PIN, please visit a banking center or call 1.800.432.1000 from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time Monday through Friday or 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time Saturday and Sunday and we will mail you a reminder.

    If you know your PIN, you may change it in the following ways:

    • Visit a Bank of America ATM, select More Options, and then Change PIN
    • Visit a banking center
  • Show What should I do if my PIN (Personal Identification Number) isn't working?

  • Show How can I avoid problems if I plan to travel domestically or internationally and use my ATM card?

    To prevent an interruption in ATM card access, it’s necessary to set a travel notice on the cards you plan to use while traveling.  To set a travel notice:

    • Sign in to Online Banking and go to the Help & Support page, select the Checking & Savings accounts topic and then select Use your card while traveling link and enter your trip details
    • Call 1.800.432.1000

  • Show What should I do if my card is lost or stolen or if I notice fraudulent ATM card transactions?
