Mission

The Lucy Downing Nisbet Charitable Fund was established in 2002 to support and promote educational, health & human services, and arts programming for underserved populations. The Foundation specifically serves organizations located in and serving the people of Vermont. Special consideration is given to organizations in the area of healthcare/nursing, domestic violence awareness, heart disease, or endangered species, and organizations located in and serving the people of Morrisville, VT.

Guidelines

The Lucy Downing Nisbet Charitable Fund application deadline is January 15. Applicants will be notified of grant decisions by letter within 2 to 3 months of the deadline.

Grant size generally ranges from $5,000- $20,000 and grants are 1 year in duration.

The trustees do not make grants for deficit financing, annual giving, endowments or capital projects.

Bank of America, N.A. serves as co-trustee of the Nisbet Fund along with Ward F. Cleary, Esq.
