Mission

The Frank Reed & Margaret Jane Peters Memorial Fund I was established in 1935 to support and promote quality educational, human services and health care programming for underserved populations. Special consideration is given to charitable organizations that serve youth and children.

Guidelines

The application deadline for the Frank Reed & Margaret Jane Peters Memorial Fund I is March 1. Applicants will be notified of grant decisions before July 31.

The Peters Memorial Fund I is a generous supporter of the Associated Grant Makers (AGM) Summer Fund. The AGM Summer Fund is a collaborative group of donors that provides operating support for summer camps serving low-income urban youth from Boston, Cambridge, Chelsea and Somerville. Excluding the grant made to the AGM Summer Fund, the typical grant range is $10,000 to $40,000.

Grant requests for general operating support are strongly encouraged. Program support will also be considered. Small, program-related capital expenses may be included in general operating or program requests.

The majority of grants from the Peters Memorial Fund I are 1 year in duration. On occasion, multi-year support is awarded.
