Mission

The Kawabe Memorial Fund was established in 1971 to support and promote general operations and programs of nonprofit agencies devoted to the care of low-income children, families and seniors. The Fund also provides a few capital grants to churches as well as scholarships to support teachers and the clergy. The Kawabe Memorial Fund typically supports organizations serving the people of the Puget Sound area.

Guidelines

Proposals must be received by the due dates noted. Applications to the Kawabe Memorial Fund are due the second Friday in March, June or September.

Prior to committee consideration of proposals, applicants may be asked to provide additional information by phone.

Grant requests for specific programs are encouraged but requests for general operating support will be considered. Grants from the Kawabe Memorial Fund are 1 year in duration.

Applicants will be notified by mail of the Committee’s funding decisions.
