Mission

Joseph Napoleon “Pole” Edens and Lilac “Macie” Edens were long time residents of Corsicana, Texas. Joseph was a self made man who from a young age managed the family ranch. For years, Mr. Edens bred Herefords, winning numerous prizes throughout the nation. Mr. Edens later became bank president of the Corsicana First National Bank.

Mr. Edens started 4-H clubs and Future Farmers of America Chapters where his influence is still present today. Mr. and Mrs. Edens had a strong sense of community and established the J. N. and Macie Edens Foundation to promote the well-being of mankind.

Guidelines

Grants are awarded to organizations in Navarro County, Texas, for the promotion and extension of religion, education, the alleviation of human suffering, prevention and control of disease, to aid scientific endeavors that contribute to the betterment of mankind, for beautification of public buildings, grounds or civic betterment and to provide relief to the poor and indigent through 501(c)(3) charitable organizations.
