    Foreign currency orders placed using a small business account must be picked up at a banking center of your choice. The foreign currency package will only be released to an authorized signer listed for the small business account. Identification will be required. Foreign currency packages will be held at the banking center for 7 business days, after which time the package will be returned to Bank of America Foreign Exchange. (Please note that the exchange rate applied to the returned foreign currency may be different from the original transaction.)

    For foreign currency orders placed using a personal account, Bank of America offers 2 delivery options:

    1. You may have your foreign currency order(s) up to $1,000 delivered to your address of record (on the account you're using to pay for the currency) over a 30-day period, whether the currency is purchased in one or several transactions. No post office boxes or personal mailboxes are allowed. If the courier is unable to deliver your foreign currency package it will be returned to Bank of America. (Please note that the exchange rate applied to the returned foreign currency may be different from the original transaction.)
    2. You may have your order sent to the full service Bank of America banking center of your choice. The foreign currency package will only be released to the purchaser listed on the order. Identification will be required. Foreign currency packages will be held at the banking center for 7 business days, after which time the package will be returned to Bank of America Foreign Exchange. (Please note that the exchange rate applied to the returned foreign currency may be different from the original transaction.)

    By limiting delivery destinations in this way, we limit the potential of your order being intercepted by an unauthorized individual.

    If your address has changed in the past 30 days or you have been a Bank of America customer for fewer than 30 days, your order must be picked up at a banking center.

  • Show When will my order be shipped and when will I receive it?

    Orders placed before 2 p.m. (delivery address local time) are shipped the same day. Orders placed after 2 p.m. or on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays are shipped the next business day. With standard shipping, orders generally arrive within 1-3 business days. (Allow 2-3 additional business days for orders shipped to Alaska or Hawaii.) Orders shipped via overnight delivery should arrive the next business day. (Overnight shipping to Hawaii and Alaska cannot be guaranteed.)

  • Show Will I receive tracking information for my order?

    Yes. Once your foreign currency order has shipped, tracking information will be sent to the email address of record associated with the account you used to pay for your order. Be sure to add foreigncurrency@bankofamerica.com to the list of accepted addresses in your email software. This will prevent spam blockers from blocking our email.

  • Show Is there a fee for shipping foreign currency orders?

    There is no fee for standard shipping on all orders of USD$1,000 or more. There is a USD$7.50 delivery fee for orders less than USD$1,000. There is a USD$20 delivery fee for all overnight shipping orders, regardless of the amount ordered. Please note that shipping fees apply to all orders, whether they are delivered to your address of record or to a banking center.

  • Show What should I do if my address is displayed incorrectly on my order?

    If your current address is not correctly displayed, please choose to have your foreign currency order delivered to the Bank of America banking center of your choice. Contact Bank of America Customer Service to ensure the address on your account has been updated. You can also check the address on your Online Banking profile by choosing the Update my contact information link under the Help & Support tab.

  • Show What should I do if I don't receive my order?

    To inquire about your order, call Bank of America Foreign Currency Customer Service at 1.800.523.7860 (9 a.m.-8 p.m. ET) and choosing option 1, then option 2. Please have your order confirmation number ready when you call.

Delivery information

You must pick up at a banking center if:

  • Your order is $1,000 or more in U.S. dollars
  • You are a new customer (less than 30 days)
  • Your address changed in the last 30 days

  • Orders made before 2 p.m. (delivery address local time) Mon.-Fri. will ship the same business day; otherwise will ship the next business day
  • We do not ship orders on Sat., Sun. or holidays
