Local grants
Our local market presidents support local priorities established jointly with community leaders.
National programs and partners
National partners such as United Way of America, Habitat for Humanity International, the National Urban League and the American Red Cross receive grants to support their local efforts.
Anchor institutions
We invest in economic catalysts such as local arts institutions, universities, and hospitals that support the health and vibrancy of our neighborhoods.

Neighborhood Excellence Initiative
Our signature philanthropic program provides unrestricted support to local nonprofits/charitable organizations in each of 45 markets.
Neighborhood Builders
We provide $200,000 (or local market currency equivalent) in operating support to 2 nonprofits/charitable organizations in each of 45 markets.
Local Heroes
Five community heroes in 45 markets are recognized and direct $5,000 (or local market currency equivalent) contributions to qualified nonprofits/charitable organizations of their choice.
Student Leaders
Five high school juniors and seniors in 45 markets participate in a leadership summit in Washington, DC and a paid internship with a local nonprofit/charitable organization.

Matching Gifts
We match our associates’ donations to their local nonprofits of choice.
Volunteerism
Based on hours of volunteer service, we donate up to $500 per person each calendar year in associates’ names to nonprofit organizations; the program also connects associates with community service organizations that need volunteers.
Team Bank of America
Comprising more than 200,000 people throughout the world, Bank of America associates and retirees touch the lives of our customers and our communities.
Joe Martin Scholarship
We give scholarships ranging from $500 to $5,000 to students who are dependents of current, retired, or deceased Bank of America associates.
