Bank of America.  Higher Standards. Military Bank

What you need to get started:

When you get ready to open your Military Bank account, you'll need to have this information handy:
-   Social Security number
-   Current address (and prior address if you have lived at your current address for less than 3 years. We cannot accept Post Office Boxes other than those on military installations.)
-   Driver's license number, the issue date and expiration date.
-   Service Category and Branch of Service (if applicable)
-   E-mail address (if applicable)
-   Date of Birth
-   Mother's maiden name
-   Account information of your financial institution or credit card number (if funding a new deposit account from a non-Bank of America account)

There are 3 easy ways to switch to Military Bank:

Go online to www.bankofamerica.com/military and click on Open an Account

Go to your nearest Military Bank banking center. Find your nearest location by visiting www.bankofamerica.com/military and clicking on Locations.

Call 1.800.334.1920 to speak to a Bank of America Military Bank associate.

1. Set up direct deposits:

Once your Bank of America Military Bank account is open, you'll need to establish or transfer your direct deposits. Gather the following information:
-   Employer or direct deposit initiator's name and address.
-   Your new Bank of America Military Bank account number.
-   Your new Bank of America Military Bank ACH routing/transit number.
Once you have this information, contact your employer or direct deposit to switch your direct deposit. Remember, military personnel can go online to www.mypay.gov to easily change their direct deposit information.
 

2. Change automatic payments:

To transfer automatic payments from your former bank account to your new Bank of America Military Bank account, make sure you have the following information handy:
-   Copy of your latest statement from your old bank with your billing information
-   Bank of America Military Bank account number
-   Bank of America Military Bank ACH routing/transit number
With this information, you can now transfer your automatic payments to your new Military Bank account. Contact the biller and let them know you've changed banks and give them your new information.
 

3. Once your Military Bank accounts are open, do the following:

-   Stop using your former bank account, but be sure to keep enough funds in it to cover any outstanding checks, automatic withdrawals and automatic payments.
-   Close your former accounts once your direct deposit has switched and your last check, automatic withdrawal or automatic payment has cleared.
