    • How does Intuit® Online Payroll work?

      Intuit® Online Payroll helps you to automate time-consuming payroll work without having to buy or install any additional software. You access the service conveniently through your Small Business Online Banking account, via the Business Services tab. Step-by-step, Intuit® Online Payroll keeps you on track for all your payroll tasks, whether you're running payroll or issuing W-2s. Whenever you have a payday or a tax deadline approaching, Intuit® Online Payroll sends you an email reminder. For paydays, instantly calculate your deductions and easily pay employees either by direct deposit or by check from your account. Payroll tax payments can be made electronically and are as easy as clicking a button. All federal and many state payroll tax filings can also be made electronically. Best of all, Intuit® Online Payroll integrates with leading accounting software so you never have to enter data twice.

    • Is it easy to access Intuit® Online Payroll through Small Business Online Banking?

      Yes. Intuit® Online Payroll is the easiest and most convenient way to do your payroll online, and you can save time by viewing account balances and accessing payroll in the same Online Banking session. When you also enroll in Account Management, you can allow other authorized users to access Intuit® Online Payroll while maintaining total control over what accounts they can see and what services they can use.

    • How do I pay my employees through Intuit® Online Payroll?

      Intuit® Online Payroll offers the convenience and security of direct deposit. The service creates professional pay stubs that you can print on plain paper. On payday, employees receive automatic email notifications letting them know that their pay stubs are available. They can then sign in to Intuit's secure website to view and print the pay stubs.

      If an employee doesn't have a Bank of America account, we'll provide you with the information to set one up. Learn more about Employee Benefits from Bank of America.

      Of course, if an employee prefers not to take advantage of a Bank of America checking account and the other services offered through Employee Benefits, you may pay by direct deposit to any financial institution or by check instead (additional fees may apply).

    • How do I print paychecks?

      Once you enter hours and approve payments, Intuit instantly creates paychecks and provide PDF copies that you can print using check stock (sold separately). For information on ordering the correct check stock, call Solutions for Business at 1.800.234.6147. You can also handwrite checks on your current check stock and print pay stubs using your own paper. When paying employees by check, additional fees may apply.

    • Can I issue W-2s through Intuit® Online Payroll?

      Intuit® Online Payroll takes care of your W-2s. You'll receive an email reminder when it's time to issue W-2s, you'll see the completed W-2s online and you can print copies to distribute to your employees. To submit W-2s electronically to the Social Security Administration, just click a button.

    • Can I pay 1099 contractors?

      Intuit® Online Payroll Enhanced lets you pay 1099 contractors using the same payment features available for employee payments. Contractor payments are not supported by the Basic level of service.

    • Does Intuit® Online Payroll integrate with my accounting software?

      Intuit® Online Payroll integrates with the leading accounting and bookkeeping solutions, including QuickBooks®, QuickBooks® Online Edition and Peachtree™. With Intuit® Online Payroll accounting and bookkeeping integration, you never have to enter data twice.

    • What types of businesses can benefit from Intuit® Online Payroll?

      Intuit® Online Payroll has been designed expressly for businesses with less than 150 employees. It's ideal for small businesses as well as non-profit employers. It is not for individual use in paying household employees. Intuit® Online Payroll is only for companies located in the United States and is not available in U.S. territories.

      Intuit® Online Payroll works well for all industry types, with the exception of agricultural-based businesses that require federal form 943.

    • How is Intuit® Online Payroll different than traditional payroll services?

      Intuit® Online Payroll takes a completely different approach from traditional payroll services. It eases your burden by automating tedious and time-consuming payroll work. You stay in full control by processing payday, tax payments and tax filings on your schedule, not someone else's. For future tax payments, the money stays in your account until you tell Intuit to send your payment. Best of all, Intuit® Online Payroll is significantly less expensive than most traditional payroll services.

    • Can I make federal payroll tax payments and form filings with Intuit® Online Payroll?

      Yes, you'll pay all of your federal payroll taxes electronically. You'll receive an email reminder whenever a tax payment or form filing is due. Just click to make the payment or submit your 941, 940 or 944 form. You can print a copy anytime for your records or to share with your accountant.

    • How does Intuit® Online Payroll help me pay and file payroll taxes?

      Intuit makes it easy and fast for you to pay and file your payroll taxes. They do all the calculations and provide the forms for you.  Intuit also sends you an email reminder whenever payroll taxes are due.

      For federal taxes, just click to file and pay taxes electronically. Electronic services are also available for most states; for the rest, Intuit provides signature-ready forms and payment coupons that you can print to mail along with the check to the state agency.

    • What if I pay state taxes to multiple states?

      Multi-state employment issues can become complex. So that Intuit can adequately understand your specific situation and how they might be able to support you in accurately and efficiently managing your payroll, please call Intuit Payroll Customer Support at 1.888.606.4545. We also recommend that you contact your accountant or other tax adviser for advice regarding your particular payroll tax situation.

    • What does multi-state tax support offer?

      Intuit® Online Payroll provides support for all additional state tax filings and payments outside of the employer's primary state and includes:

      • Email reminders and To Do items
      • Signature-ready forms and payment coupons where available
      • Electronic services where available
    • What is the service charge for multi-state tax support?

      Intuit will bill employers an additional fee of $12 per month for each state in which the employer meets the multi-state employer criteria. The monthly fee for additional states applies for each month in which you meet the criteria, whether or not you use the payroll service in that month.

    • How much does Intuit® Online Payroll cost?

      You can view fee information on the Self-Service Payroll overview page.

    • You told me that Intuit® Online Payroll was $20 per month, but the amount due on my bill is more than that. Why?

      Basic service is $20 per month and you will receive a $20 discount in any month during which you pay all your employees (including contractors) by direct deposit to Bank of America accounts. If you pay more than 20 employees, but not all are paid by direct deposits to Bank of America accounts, an additional monthly fee of $2 will be charged for each employee over the first 20.

    • I opted for Intuit® Online Payroll Enhanced, and now my bill is more than $36 a month. Why?

      Intuit® Online Payroll Enhanced is $36 per month and that fee is waived during the first 3.0 months of enrollment. However, if you pay more than 20 employees, but not all are paid by direct deposit to Bank of America accounts, an additional monthly fee of $2 will be charged for each employee over the first 20.

    • Am I locked into a contract?

      No, you can cancel at any time. There's no contract to sign or a minimum amount of time you must use the service.

    • How do I get started?

      Intuit® Online Payroll requires Small Business Online Banking access.

      If you already have Small Business Online Banking, just sign in and click on the Business Services tab, then click on Payroll Service by Intuit®. You will be required to enter information about your employees and your business.

      If you do not have Small Business Online Banking, you can open the small business checking account that’s most appropriate to your specific business needs. Intuit® Online Payroll is available during the account application process.

      Be sure to follow up with your employees to get their Bank of America account information and direct deposit authorization forms so you can take advantage of the Intuit® Online Payroll. For any employees without a Bank of America account, give them the information which will be provided to you during the enrollment process so they can take advantage of direct deposit and all that Bank of America has to offer.

    • What if I don't see the Business Services tab in Online Banking?

      If you are currently using Online Banking but you don't see the Business Services tab, please upgrade to Small Business Online Banking by calling us at 1.866.758.5972.

    • How long does it take to enroll in Intuit® Online Payroll?

      If you already have a Small Business Online Banking access, it takes only a few minutes to enroll in Intuit® Online Payroll. Go to the Business Services tab to enroll.

    • How long does it take to set up?

      Setup time varies depending on how many employees you have, what time of year you get started and your previous payroll method. Most customers are able to set up their Intuit® Online Payroll account in just a few hours. Don't worry if you can't finish in one session. When you sign in the next time, Intuit will prompt you to continue where you left off.

    • If I'm currently using a different payroll solution, can I switch at any time during the year?

      You can switch to Intuit® Online Payroll from any other payroll solution at any time of the year. When you set up your Intuit® Online Payroll account, the setup wizard will ask a few questions to customize your setup flow. If you've already paid wages to employees during the calendar year, the wizard will guide you to enter year-to-date payroll information. That way, your withholding calculations, tax payments, form filings and W-2s will be accurate.

    • How secure is Intuit® Online Payroll?

      You access Intuit® Online Payroll through Small Business Online Banking. Bank of America is committed to safe internet banking and Online Banking security to provide you with peace of mind when you access your Intuit payroll account. To ensure the security of your account information, Online Banking uses 128-bit SSL encryption and our innovative SiteKey technology.

      To help protect your privacy while you're using Intuit® Online Payroll, you'll be signed out of the Online Banking service after 10 minutes of inactivity.

    • Can you help me find workers' compensation insurance?

      Intuit® Full Service Payroll customers may contact a national insurance broker (AP Intego) with access to multiple insurance carriers offering workers' compensation insurance to learn about and purchase coverage.

    • How do I reach Intuit Payroll Customer Support?

    • What is the Intuit Full Service Payroll® option?

      Intuit Full Service Payroll® is a comprehensive payroll solution that pays and files your federal and state taxes for you. Your paychecks, payroll tax payments and filings are guaranteed accurate and on time—every time. Intuit's dedicated team of payroll experts sets up your payroll for you and actively audits and flags potential errors every payroll run. You enter the hours, Intuit does the rest.

    • Is Intuit Full Service Payroll® secure?

      Intuit takes the security of your data very seriously. Password protection, advanced encryption technology, 128-bit secure socket layers, firewalls, heavily guarded servers and intrusion-detection devices all work together to prevent unauthorized access. Intuit Full Service Payroll® is certified by the toughest independent industry watchdogs including VeriSign, TRUSTe and the Online Better Business Bureau®.

    • What is error-free payroll?

      Intuit Full Service Payroll® uses error-detection logic so you don’t make mistakes and alerts you to big differences each payroll.

    • What do you mean by tax filing?

      Intuit will deduct your tax payments when they are due and pay and file all payroll–related forms with the appropriate state or federal agency on time and accurate—guaranteed.

    • How is accuracy guaranteed?

      If the information you supply is accurate, Intuit guarantees that both your paychecks and payroll taxes are accurate and on time or your next month is free—and Intuit will pay any tax penalties you incur as a result of an Intuit service error.

    • Can I print my own checks?

      Yes. Check printing gives you the flexibility to print and distribute checks at any time. This is especially helpful for off-cycle instances such as advances and terminations. No more having to call your payroll company for a check to be delivered, which also creates an extra cost to the employer. Setting up check printing takes less than 10 minutes, and the cost of check stock is significantly less than the cost of delivery. Most companies choose direct deposit and skip printing entirely.

    • Does Direct Deposit cost extra?

      No, there are no additional fees for using direct deposit.

    • What do I need to get set up?

      A list of employee data including Social Security numbers, an EIN and a copy of any payroll history for the year. Intuit enters all of the data for you and get you ready to run payroll.

    • How long does it take to get set up?

      From 7 to 10 business days after Intuit receives employee data, historical payroll information, state agency account numbers and necessary legal documents. Intuit evaluates the specific needs of each customer to determine the best transition plan from their current payroll provider or method.

    • Do you handle special situations like clergy or contractors?

      Intuit supports the calculations for clergy and contractor payments and filings for no additional fee.

    • I enrolled in Intuit Full Service Payroll® for $99 a month, but now my bill is more than that. Why?

      The fee is $99 per month, plus $2 for each employee or contractor. In addition, multi-state payroll processing fees will apply for every state in which you have employees or contractors other than your primary business state location. Intuit® may also charge additional fees for exception processing and other special processing services, which will be disclosed to you in advance.
