Environmental Network

We're working to decrease our businesses' impact on the environment.

Quote by associate in Florida: I helped educate my children about environmental issues and how they impact our water quality.

Objectives

The Environmental Network engages our associates in activities that help lower the environmental impact of our businesses and demonstrate environmental responsibility. This network

  • Helps associates understand why an active environmental program and ethic should be part of our corporate culture
  • Helps associates engage in environmental best practices and activities at work, at home and in their communities
  • Provides measurable results of network activities
  • Encourages professional development and provides networking opportunities
  • Makes a direct impact on the health of the environment
  • Helps ensure a sustainable future

Events

In some cases, an Environmental Network may partner with the Volunteer Network on a variety of hands-on environmental improvement projects, such as cleaning up parks and city streets, participating in Earth Day and International Coastal Cleanup, building trails and clearing invasive plants from national park land and more. Environmental Networks may also host informational events such as

  • Brown-bag lunches with guest speakers or booths staffed by outside environmental agencies
  • Education on environmental best practices—such as recycling, energy conservation and reducing waste—in work sites across the country
  • Children's environmental poster contest held annually
