Military Support Affinity Group Memorial Day events:

Memorial Day is a special day for those who served in the Military. All of us have been impacted by those that made the ultimate sacrifice and the Military Support Affinity Group has the following events planned this year to honor these heroes:

• The Arizona chapter will recognize fallen service members with an outing golf event. All proceeds will support the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund (www.semperfifund.org).
• The Ohio chapter will bring the team together at a picnic to plan supporting VA Hospital visits and to welcome new members.
• In Charlotte, a "Memorial Day Remembrance Board" will be posted in the Corporate Center's Founders Hall for everyone to honor service members and teammates by putting letters, photos and other mementos on display. Additionally teams will be working with the USO to meet and greet returning and transitioning service members at the Charlotte airport.
• In Delaware, a massive care package collection event will collect, sort, pack and ship hard to get and needed items to service members deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
• In Maine, work to support the local National Guard unit will strengthen the partnership between the bank and the local military members.
• In New York City, MSAG will work closely with the Market team to support the Fleet week events, help with the Intrepid ceremony, and support USO efforts with highly motivated resources.
• Norfolk Chapter Ride to Recovery Event support. Volunteers from the Norfolk Chapter will assist the multiple participants in the bike ride by shuttling them thought the Hampton Roads tunnel
• St Louis Chapter volunteers will support Memorial weekend by helping to clean the Soldiers Memorial

Military Support Affinity Group events:

• Stand Down for Homeless Veterans—Charlotte Chapter— On March 11 & 12 homeless veterans were provided with a broad range of necessities including food, clothing, medical, legal and mental health assistance, job counseling.
• Valentines for Troops—Delaware Chapter— shipped 342 Valentines and bags of candy to five different units.
• Phoenix VA Hospital Olympics—Arizona Chapter— members supported the local VA's Olympics.
• Bangor, Maine Veteran's Home Volunteer Effort—Maine Chapter— members volunteered for an afternoon at the Bangor Veteran's home spending time with residents.
• Troop Greeting—Maine Chapter— members have been on hand for incoming and outgoing flights to greet troops and wish them well as they deploy. Bank of America was proud to join in the efforts of the existing Bangor Maine troop greeter group which was recently the subject of a Oscar nominated documentary film.
• Military Support Affinity Group All Hands Call—Military Support Affinity Group Enterprise— March 31 - The purpose of the Spring 2010 Enterprise all-hands meeting was to bring the Bank of America Military Support Affinity Groups together-at least virtually and share best demonstrated practices related to veteran management.
• Pat Tillman Run—Arizona Chapter— April 17
• Military Support Affinity Group Chapters—Coupons for Troops partnership with Q&CD— May 2010 collected over $67,000 in coupons for distribution to key bases in Japan, Italy and Germany to support the families of deployed troops
• Adopt–A–Unit–Delaware Chapter—February—May 2010– Collected items to ship to deployed military units
• Maine Chapter— April-May Candy drive. 280 pounds of donations sent overseas to deployed troops. Continued connections with local veteran groups and deployed Guard units
• St Louis Chapter—Leadership Development—May 17 US Navy SEAL Officer Eric Greitens speaking on "Inspired Leadership in Challenging Times" and his charitable organization, "The Mission Continues" which empowers wounded and disabled veterans to continue their service to their country as citizen leaders here at home
