The bank was a premier supporter of the athletes of Special Olympics Team USA in their preparation for the 2007 World Summer Games in Shanghai and jointly sponsored the 2007 World Games with China Construction Bank. In support of Special Olympics Team USA, Bank of America funded the training and transportation of nearly 400 athletes and 150 coaches from across the United States. In addition, bank associates nationwide served as Special Olympics volunteers in advance of the 2007 World Games.
