Bank of America Routing Number FAQs

The ABA routing number is a 9–digit number assigned to financial institutions by The American Bankers Association (ABA) to identify the financial institution upon which a payment was drawn. Routing numbers are sometimes referred to as “check routing numbers”, “ABA numbers”, or “routing transit numbers” (RTN). Routing numbers may differ depending on where your account was opened and the type of transaction made.

Routing numbers depend on the type of transaction made. Please sign in to Online Banking and click on the Show Routing Numbers link on the Accounts Details page to find your routing numbers (available for all states except Florida, Illinois, Missouri and Texas). If your account was opened in Florida, Illinois, Missouri or Texas, or you do not have access to Online Banking, please contact customer service by calling 1.800.432.1000 to get your routing numbers. Customer service associates are available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., local time.

You may also find the correct routing number for the type of transaction you want to make by using the dropdown menu and choosing the state in which your account was opened.

Routing numbers depend on the type of transaction made.

• To reorder checks, use the number for paper transactions.
• To set up direct deposits (e.g., to receive paychecks or IRS refunds) or outgoing payments to other financial institutions, use the number for electronic transactions.
• To receive incoming domestic or international wire transfers, use the number for wire transfers.

In California, Illinois, Florida, Missouri, and Texas, there are multiple processing regions, so more information may be needed to determine the routing number for your account. Customer service associates are available to help you identify the correct routing number. Please contact customer service at 1.800.432.1000 (California customers call 1.800.622.8731). For ACH transactions, please use the routing number for electronic transactions.
