What you need to participate in the Bank of America Keep the Change Program

The Keep the Change program is a free service provided by Bank of America. To sign up for Keep the Change program , you must have a Bank of America checking account, check card, and savings account¹. The maximum total match is $250 per year.

If you have multiple checking accounts, we will use the account associated with your check card.

If you have multiple check cards associated with your checking account, each check card will be automatically activated for Keep the Change.

Rewards cards are not eligible for the match.

Terms & Conditions

Footnote¹Purchases with rewards or ATM cards are not eligible for matching. We will match 100% of your Keep the Change transfers for the first three months after you enroll. Thereafter, we will match 5%. The maximum total match is $250 per year. Matching funds are paid annually after the anniversary of enrollment on accounts that remain open and enrolled. Bank of America will only match Keep the Change transfers on up to five checking accounts per depositor (including joint depositors) or up to five checking accounts per household, whichever is less. Eligible savings accounts include Regular Savings (or Market Rate Savings in WA and ID), which requires a minimum opening balance of $25 ($1 in WA and ID) and pays a variable annual percentage yield that is 0.10% as of 11/23/2009. Money Market Savings accounts are also eligible. Matching funds will be reported to the IRS on Form 1099. Fees may reduce earnings. Patent pending.

How the Keep the Change® Program Works:

Each time you buy something with your Bank of America Check Card, we'll round your purchase to the nearest dollar amount and transfer the difference from your checking account to your savings account. You get to keep the change and grow your savings. What could be easier?

Save with everyday purchases.

Using your Bank of America Check Card¹ is always a smart way to spend. The money comes directly out of your checking account with no charge to you for this service. And now with Keep the Change, it's even smarter. Because every bag of groceries, every coffee and every tank of gas adds up to more savings for you.

We'll even match your savings².

For the first three months, we'll match your Keep the Change® savings at 100%. That means for every Keep the Change® transfer, we'll contribute the same amount to your account. And when the three months are over, we'll continue matching 5% a year, every year - to make it even easier to save. You could earn a total match of up to $250 per year. This Bank of America Keep the Change program reward will be paid annually to your savings account.

To receive the matching funds, your checking and savings accounts must be open and in good standing, and you must still be enrolled in the service. Annual promotional match will not exceed $250.
